Application Details: For this custom designed indexing machine, the operator simply needs to initiate the automatic cycle and load parts continuously onto the part fixtures. The indexer automatically cycles each part to the pre-crimping station and then to the final crimp station. After the final crimp station, the part is indexed to the unload station where it is ejected into a tote by an air blow off device.

Custom Designed 5.5 Ton Air over Oil Up-Acting Press

Application Details: Manufacture and design a newer version of an up-acting bearing press machine, similar to an older, existing machine at the customer’s sister facility.

Requirement: Machine needed to be up-acting and produce at least 6,000 lb. of force to press roller bearings onto its mating drive shaft. Machine was to be installed in a new integrated assembly line at one of the customer’s facilities.
Solution: Custom designed 5.5 ton up-acting air over oil press with roller conveyor to match those used in proposed assembly line. Addition of drive shaft carrying fixtures to easily slide the shaft along the conveyor, along with slide-on tooling rings for pressing roller bearings onto the drive shafts.

Application Use: Drive Shaft Assemblies

Requirement: This press needed to be built and configured to perform 10 unique pressing operations to build out 10 different subassemblies.
Solution: The custom programmed Human Machine Interface (HMI) allows the operator to control each process digitally, with a graphical representation of the set of operations to be conducted.

Other custom modifications: This press was custom painted, included a custom frame to increase the daylight/throat depth, and also outfitted with an electrical enclosure, mounted to the press frame.  This press also came equipped with a gooseneck machine light to illuminate the platen working area.
